STAFF SPOTLIGHT: PENNY RODRIGUEZ
Penny Rodriguez - Finance

Penny Rodriguez of the WPS Finance Department is our Staff Spotlight for May 1st. She is a wizard in accounting and has deep roots in Westminster Public Schools. Penny takes great pride in her work and believes WPS is the best school district around not only as an employee, but also as a parent and grandparent of students who have attended.

Accounting Manager Tatyana Glushko says, “Penny goes above and beyond her job description and is always willing to help. Penny is dedicated to her work at Westminster Public Schools Finance Department and exhibits a genuine passion for what she does.”

Thank you for all you do, Penny. You are a proud member of the WPS Team!

Years in WPS: 17 years

Favorite Food: Steak or pasta

Favorite Activity: Spending time with family, singing, and playing softball with our family team.

What I am listening to right now: K-LOVE

Superpower I wish I had: To know when someone needs help that I can give, and be able to see that visibly right away.

If I could make the world a better place in one way: I would slow down and be more intentional in all conversations and show true love and compassion to all even when I feel so overwhelmed and busy with my own life.

What has Westminster Public Schools meant to you? WPS really does feel like home. I raised my kids in the district, and they were involved in so many things. Plus, so many wonderful staff members have had a huge impact on our lives. Now, my grandchildren have been participating in the Westy Futures Programs with WPS; and I feel like I am starting all over again with them. I love working here and hope to be here until I retire.

Who inspires me in WPS (staff, parent, or student): There are so many people with whom I draw inspiration in our district. But I guess on a daily basis it would have to be Brisa Montgomery and Tatyana Glusko. They are both so smart, and they challenge me to do better. I have learned and continue to learn so much from both of them. They are great models of what our department strives to be.
