A NOTE FROM SUPERINTENDENT Gotto | SEPTEMBER 18
Dear Westminster Public Schools Community,
I am inviting you to an important milestone in the history of Westminster Public Schools, as next week we will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Iver C. Ranum An Innovation Campus.
On Wednesday, September 25th, the family of former Superintendent Iver Ranum will join community and business leaders to help us celebrate the occasion. The innovation campus will give students exciting new opportunities to prepare for their lives after high school graduation, whether they are going directly into the workforce or pursuing higher education. Phase one of the campus opened last month with pathways in Aviation Engineering, Biotechnology, and Cybersecurity. Every pathway allows for industry credentials and college credits.
Instruction at the Ranum Campus is an extension of the CTE and STEM learning that students have experienced throughout their time in WPS. It comes from the realization that career-based learning does not begin at the high school level but is a lifelong process.
In addition, long-range plans envision a campus that will provide job training and continuing education support for adults in our community.
This next step towards meeting the education needs of our community has been a long time in coming. It is important to know that before investing a single dollar in construction, our team took a detailed look at the best way to innovate for the future. We have researched industry needs in our community and found partners with the same vision for the future as WPS leaders.
You can learn much more about the campus by visiting our Ranum Innovation Campus website.
Hope to see you there!
Warm regards,
Dr. Jeni Gotto
Superintendent of Schools
